Jeddah
TThis Jeddah travel photography series is my personal documentation of the streets, people, and everyday atmosphere of Saudi Arabia through a cinematic documentary approach. Shot in black and white, the project focuses on quiet human moments, urban environments, and the contrast between rapid modern development and the routines of daily life across the city of Jeddah.
Photographing throughout the streets and neighbourhoods of Jeddah, I aimed to capture authentic scenes of movement, solitude, and observation — from late-night streets and quiet residential spaces to fleeting moments of human interaction. Using a monochrome aesthetic allowed me to strip the imagery back to light, texture, and emotion, creating a timeless visual narrative rooted in documentary storytelling and street photography.
As a London-based documentary and travel photographer, my work is heavily influenced by analogue photography, cinematic composition, and observational image-making. Rather than creating staged travel imagery, I focus on realism and atmosphere, documenting the rhythm and character of a place through natural moments and understated compositions.
Throughout this series, I explored themes of identity, labour, architecture, and everyday life within Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving urban landscape. Through the use of shadow, contrast, framing, and negative space, I wanted to create an intimate portrait of Jeddah while highlighting details often overlooked in traditional travel photography.
This body of work sits between documentary photography, fine art photography, and editorial travel photography, combining a raw visual style with a cinematic approach to storytelling. Influenced by classic street photography and contemporary documentary imagery, the series reflects both the scale and intimacy of life within the city.
My wider travel and documentary photography projects have been photographed across London, Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, focusing on culture, architecture, and everyday life through an observational lens. Whether working on editorial travel commissions, documentary photography projects, or personal visual essays, I aim to create imagery that feels honest, atmospheric, and visually immersive.
