One month in Turkey

This series of photographs was created while solo travelling across Turkey with nothing more than a backpack, one camera body, and a 24–70mm lens. Moving from the streets of Istanbul to the landscapes of Cappadocia, I documented the journey in a raw and instinctive way — focusing on atmosphere, texture, light, and the quieter moments that often get overlooked while travelling.

Staying in hostels and travelling alone forced me to slow down and photograph things differently. Without a large production, multiple lenses, or any real plan, the work became far more observational and personal. Every image in the series was captured naturally as I moved through different parts of Turkey, from ancient cave structures and hidden landscapes to coastal towns and everyday street scenes.

Shooting with only a 24–70 lens gave me the freedom to stay lightweight and react quickly to changing environments. It pushed me to focus more on composition, storytelling, and natural light rather than relying on equipment. The result is a body of travel photography that feels honest, cinematic, and documentary-led — capturing both the scale and stillness of travelling through Turkey alone.

From Istanbul’s energy and architecture to the surreal textures of Cappadocia, the project became less about traditional travel photography and more about documenting the experience of movement, solitude, and discovery through imagery. The photographs balance landscape, documentary, and editorial influences while maintaining a minimal and understated visual style throughout the series.
