Marrakesh
Marrakech is a city built on texture, colour and atmosphere from the maze-like streets of the Medina to the quiet details hidden inside workshops, riads and market spaces. This ongoing travel photography series documents the energy, craftsmanship and everyday life found throughout Marrakech, combining documentary photography with a cinematic editorial style.
Shot across markets, courtyards and streets throughout the city, the project focuses on natural moments, architecture, culture and human interaction, capturing both the chaos and calm that make Marrakech one of the most visually inspiring cities in the world.
As a London travel photographer with a background in documentary and fine art photography, my approach to photographing Marrakech was centred around storytelling and observation. Rather than creating staged imagery, I focused on capturing authentic scenes, rich tones and the small details that define the city — from traditional leather tanneries and handcrafted objects to bold architecture, local artisans and the changing light across the Medina.
The series blends travel photography, documentary photography and editorial imagery, creating a body of work that feels immersive, atmospheric and visually driven. Inspired by Moroccan culture, design and street life, the photographs explore the contrast between movement and stillness, modern life and tradition, shadow and colour.
My travel and documentary photography work often focuses on culture, subcultures, architecture and everyday life, with projects photographed across London, Europe, North Africa and beyond. Whether working on editorial commissions, commercial travel campaigns or personal documentary projects, I aim to create imagery that feels honest, cinematic and connected to place.
This Marrakech photography series is part of an ongoing exploration of travel, culture and visual storytelling through documentary-style photography.
