MOUNT SNOWDEN
This photography series was created as a test spec shoot while climbing Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), exploring the relationship between outdoor adventure, endurance, and contemporary outdoor apparel through a raw documentary style. Shot in black and white, the images capture the physical and mental experience of hiking one of the most iconic mountains in Wales while showcasing the atmosphere of the landscape in harsh and changing conditions.
Blending outdoor lifestyle photography with documentary storytelling, the series focuses on movement, texture, and isolation during the ascent of Mount Snowdon. Close-up details of worn hiking boots, weatherproof outerwear, rugged terrain, and dramatic mountain landscapes create a cinematic visual narrative inspired by adventure photography and modern outdoor culture.
The shoot was approached as a spec campaign, drawing influence from contemporary outdoor brands and editorial travel photography. The imagery highlights themes of exploration, resilience, and solitude in nature, documenting the experience of mountain climbing in Snowdonia National Park through authentic and unfiltered moments.
Shot with using two Nikons, the work emphasises contrast, texture, and atmosphere while capturing the raw conditions of hiking in North Wales. The series sits at the intersection of commercial outdoor photography, travel photography, hiking culture, and environmental portraiture, making it ideal for audiences interested in adventure travel, mountain photography, and outdoor lifestyle storytelling.
